The Maryland SPCA only cares for cat and dogs. If you’re interested in a pet that is currently located in our shelter the only way to place them on hold is by visiting our shelter during business hours. Filling out an application can be helpful but not necessary before you arrive. If you’re interested in a pet located in a foster home please fill out the application and contact us to schedule a phone interview in order to place the pet on hold.
In order to adopt you must be at least 18 years old with valid photo ID and proof of current address. Please check your pet policy in your lease if applicable before coming. If you have questions about the adoption process please contact us at adopt@mdspca.org.
All pets are spayed or neutered and have at least one round of vaccinations before adoption.
Adults Cats (5 months +) : $80
Kittens (under 5 months) : $125
Adult dogs (25 lbs +): $150
Adult dogs( less then 25 lbs)
& Puppies: $275
Forget Me Nots (cats & dogs): $25
Adoption fees go towards the care for all of our pets but typically does not cover all expenses before adoption and donations are always welcome.
Sometimes certain pets in our care may take a little longer to find their match for reasons out of their control. Kaycee’s Forget-Me-Not program ensures they have an equal chance of finding a loving home while providing adopters with a supportive path to welcoming a new furry friend into their life.
