Reading Hour at the MD SPCA

March 10, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
3300 Falls Rd
Baltimore, MD 21211 United States
+ Google Map

Tuesdays from 5 – 6 p.m.

The Maryland SPCA’s Wagging Tales: Reading Hour for kids ages 6-12 years old features monthly reading themes and participation incentive prizes. This program reinforces to children that pets should be loved and treated kindly while they strengthen their literacy skills without being judged on their reading abilities. Additionally, the pets enjoy the company, and it reduces stress in pets who may be anxious in a kennel environment.

Children are encouraged to bring their own books that relate to the monthly theme.

March: Animal Shelters and the Community

April: Spring Has Sprung: Overpopulation

May: Pet Care

There is no fee for this event, but space is limited and registration is required. Start registration by clicking on the link below.

*Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
**Participants are encouraged to bring their own books to read that relate to the monthly theme.

***The Maryland SPCA may take and use photos taken at the event for marketing purposes.
