Could your pet be a Maryland SPCA Pet ambassador?

Do you and your dog love working with children? Are you available for two hours on Mondays or Tuesdays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.?

Through our Wagging Tales program, the Maryland SPCA works with Baltimore City schools to develop children's literacy skills and foster good relationships with animals. We need teams (you and your dog) to help us build on this work!

The Therapy Dog Prep class helps you and your dog prepare to pass a therapy dog evaluation. You'll learn the skills required to become a Pet Partner team. Once you've completed your evaluation and begin volunteering with the MD SPCA Pet Ambassador Program, you'll be reimbursed for evaluation and class costs.

We have two levels of Therapy Dog Prep classes, depending on whether you've competed your Canine Good Citizen certificate.

LENGTH: 60 MIN
TUITION:
$125 (6-week course) or $75 (3-week course)

PREREQUISITE: Basic dog training class (6-week course) or Canine Good Citizen certificate (3-week course)

For more information, or to sign up for Therapy Dog Prep sessions or the Maryland SPCA Pet Ambassador program, please contact the community relations director at HumaneEd@mdspca.org.
