Adequately socializing puppies during the critical period is the most effective measure to reduce the chance of your dog developing fear-related behaviors as an adult.

Puppy Pointers is a cost-effective, flexible option to help your puppy grow up to be a friendly, confident dog. You can take one or all of them! The order doesn’t matter as it is all about laying down an adequate foundation so we can teach your puppy that the world is a wonderful and safe place. Individual modules are capped at four participants to allow for adequate time to coaching new skills with your puppy. Please see below for module content and offerings:

Module 1: Puppy Socialization

Module 2: Puppy Resource Guarding
● Why do dogs guard prized possessions?

● Body Handling Sensitivity prevention exercises.
● Petting Consent test

Module 4: Puppy Separation Anxiety Prevention

● Crate training
● Alone Training exercise
● Mental Enrichment games

Module 5: Puppy Biting and Chewing
● Help! My puppy won’t stop biting me
● Orchestrating “time-outs” for biting
● Chew training
● “Drop It”

Module 6: Puppy Play, Recalls, and Mock Vet Visit

REQUIREMENTS: Socials will be limited to four clients and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Puppies must be between 9 to 20 weeks of age. All clients will be required to email or bring proof of vaccination records before participating in class.
