Our All-Star class on your schedule!
ALL-STAR BASICS ON DEMAND is a series of self-paced instructional videos that bring you the high-quality instruction of our All-Star Canine class to the comfort of your own home.
There are six modules of in-depth video training tutorials. Each module is comprised of short segments to teach your dog a specific skill.
Our AS BASIC package includes:
- Module 1: How we train; how dogs learn; motivation; marking behavior; enrichment; ways to train.
- Module 2: The importance of a dog checking in with you; look, sit, down; hand targets (“touch"); fading the lure; push-drop-stick rules.
- Module 3: Leave it (from the hand); polite walking fundamentals; recall.
- Module 4: Polite greetings; leave it (table or floor); wait-stay (what’s the difference?).
- Module 5: Down and stay; go to mat; trade.
- Module 6: Putting it all together; shake; spin; troubleshooting.

* People who've adopted from the Maryland SPCA receive a $30 discount. Not to be combined with any other discount.
* Low-income vouchers are available. To qualify, you should earn less than $25,000 annually or have annual household earnings of less than $42,000. Proof of income is required and can be based on last year's income tax form, Social Security Disability, all W-2 forms for the family, Section 8, Free Lunch, Food Stamps, VA Disability, AFDC, WIC, or Pay Stub. Complete our Low Income Verification Form and submit it to trainer@mdspca.org.
