Gretel is a big sweetheart. She was in foster care following dental work, and her foster family fell in love. She's a real pleasure-seeker who is happiest when it's time to curl up and purr beside a sleeping human. Sometimes during the night she gets up to play and may quietly bring a small toy to the bed as a gift for her special person. She's the kind of cat that is a constant companion who rarely is far away. She has a thick coat and loves brushing. Of course, a nice "Hello, pretty girl" and a belly or ear rub are always welcome. She's always ready to explore the deck or porch and roll around in the sunshine. She's on a careful diet - no treats or free feeding. She's satisfied with small morsels of canned food. Eating is not a focus of her life, so losing some extra pounds shouldn't be too hard. She greets new people and new situations without hesitation. Her special and favorite role as a foster cat was babysitting four kittens. She was an attentive Auntie Gretel, watching the little ones with curiosity and running to them when they cried. She would even move close and give an intimidating stare when they played too rough. One of the kittens taught Gretel to play with a furry toy mouse and now Gretel patrols the house at night searching for toy mice. All in all, Gretel is a very easy pet who will fit comfortably into your life. Finding The Right Pet
