Cat Hospital At Towson to Host Cat Fest to Kick-off Statewide Feline Adoption Promotion
BALTIMORE—(June 25, 2019)—To gear up for the third annual Maryland 2,000: Saving Lives Across Maryland—a month-long, waived adoption fee promotion for cats and kittens at 21 Maryland animal shelters—presenting sponsor Cat Hospital At Towson (CHAT) will host Cat Fest on Sunday, June 30th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cats and kittens from Baltimore County Animal Services, Baltimore Humane Society, BARCS and the Maryland SPCA—all members of the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance (BAWA)—as well as the Humane Society of Harford County will be available for adoption.
“Cats and kittens make wonderful companions,” said Dr. Jane Brunt, at Cat Hospital At Towson. “Cat Fest provides potential adopters an opportunity to meet cats of all ages and personalities from local animal shelters and tour our facility that specializes in medical care for felines. Adopters will also receive a certificate for a free wellness exam at CHAT for their new pet.”
Admission to Cat Fest is free. In addition to same-day pet adoptions, there will be refreshments and kids’ activities. CHAT will offer cat care tips to adopters including how to give cats medication.

After finding homes for 2,590 cats and kittens in Maryland last July, Baltimore County Animal Services, Baltimore Humane Society, BARCS and the Maryland SPCA—all members of the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance (BAWA)—have once again partnered and invited other animal shelters in Maryland to join them for the third annual Maryland 2,000: Saving Lives Across Maryland adoption event.
A total of 21 animal shelters in Maryland will be waiving adoption fees for cats and kittens in July to help find homes for the influx of felines that enter their shelters this time of year, known as ‘Kitten Season’ and to make room for incoming cats and kittens.

Kelley Animal Shelter, Maryland SPCA, Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center, Prince George’s County Animal Services Division, Talbot Humane, The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County, Tri-County Animal Shelter and Wicomico County Humane Society.
The Cat Hospital At Towson, presenting sponsor of the Maryland 2,000, will provide a certificate for a free cat wellness exam to any adopter who takes home a cat or kitten in July from Baltimore County Animal Services, Baltimore Humane Society, BARCS or the Maryland SPCA.
