The Maryland SPCA created Fix-em to be able to reach out to more animals in need. Fix-em is a program designed to help rescue groups and other agencies, such as BARCS and Lucky Cat Rescue, secure discounted spay/neuter surgery and wellness care for their animals. This is a budget-neutral program, where we collaborate with many groups in order to reach out to more animals in the community.
Aside from the care and surgery, the rescue groups receive some exposure for their dogs by being displayed in our Adoption Center. We identify all the Fix-em pooches and provide the public with contact information on the various groups and agencies.
At this time, the Fix-Em program is for rescue groups and other animal welfare agencies only.
The Maryland SPCA is delighted to work with and help other groups. If you know any group(s) who would like to participate, please have them contact Marie, Spay/Neuter Programs Manager, by email. If you are looking for more information on the Fix-Em program or on spay/neuter options available in the Baltimore area, please contact the Spay/Neuter Assistant by phone at 410-235-8826, ext. 140, or by email. We will be pleased to answer any questions.
