A Well-Behaved Cat

Having a cat is such a rewarding experience. She waits at the door for you to come home! She loves to curl up in your lap for a catnap! She gives you unconditional love.

But in some cases, she also scratches your furniture, hisses at new people or eliminates outside the litter box. That’s where the SPCA can help you. We want you to enjoy your life with your cat, which means having a well-behaved cat.

We have addressed the most common behavior issues concerning cats. This information should provide you with good problem-solving methods to correct your cat and turn her into an ideal companion. Click on the topics below to read about each issue.

If, after reading through the common behavior problems, you have additional questions about your pet’s behavior, please call to speak to a staff member at 410-235-8826, ext. 139.
