You don’t need to find your cat a new home if you are pregnant. Expecting parents are sometimes concerned about Toxoplasmosis (A protozoan infection that can affect pregnant women). However, just having someone else change the litter box will cure this problem. You can still interact normally with your cat.
Introducing baby and kitty can be a wonderful experience for all. First, you want to make sure that the cat feels secure in her environment. Do not make any changes to the cat’s routine. If you are going to make changes, slowly do so before baby comes. Think of all the preparation we make for a baby- it is unfair not to prepare your cat. Try to introduce the new furniture into the area before the baby gets here so that you can start to teach kitty where she may and may not go. Also, invite friends over with babies for practice adjustment for kitty.
After baby arrives, you will want to introduce the two. First, have the cat come over to you while you are holding baby and praise the cat for being near the baby. Any experience that the cat has around the baby should be pleasant so that she feels secure with her new family member. Sometimes new parents make the mistake of keeping the cat away from the baby and this associates bad feelings with the new baby because you are also keeping the cat away from you.

You are the key to making kitty feel happy with her new family member. Remember; even as your child grows, always supervise your child with any animal. Both are curious by nature.
