Saturday, thousands of people and their furry friends (and even a snake and a giant tortoise) took over Camden Yards Sports Complex for the Maryland SPCA’s 22nd annual March for the Animals to celebrate pets and raise awareness about the challenges that homeless, hungry and hurting pets in our community face every single day. The March serves as the MD SPCA’s largest fundraiser of the year raising the critical funds needed to provide care and services to almost 15,000 pets that will need us throughout the entire year.
Despite lots of hard work and effort by many, we did not reach our fundraising goal this year. And, from preliminary feedback, we suspect the Easter holiday and spring break are likely contributing factors.
After hearing this news, several very generous donors, who wish to remain anonymous, teamed up to create a matching donation up to $25,000, dollar-for-dollar, for ANY additional donations that are made before Friday, April 22 at midnight.
Every dollar you give will help us get closer to our goal which will allow us to help each and every homeless and helpless animal.
And, every dollar you give will be doubled, if you give now!
Here’s how your gift will help:
Remember, your gift of any amount will have double the impact and give us the life-saving support we need to care for the animals throughout the rest of 2017.
On behalf of the 180+ pets in our care right now, and the homeless, hurting and hungry pets who will arrive at our door this year, we thank you for considering this special request!
