The love and gentle care the Maryland SPCA has given to thousands of homeless and unwanted pets this year was free, but their medical exams, vaccinations, nutritious meals and shelter was not. On average, the cost of care from the time a pet entered our shelter until he or she left with a forever family was about $500.
Some pets that came through our doors were injured or ill like Road Warrior and Taffy. Our compassionate and experienced medical team took them in and gave them the life-saving care they needed to survive and get well. Once healed, our adoption counselors found them new homes—where they would be loved and safe from harm.
Thanks to community support, they were given a New Leash on Life!
As this year comes to an end, we ask you to join us to help give pets who walk through our doors in 2019 a New Leash on Life, too.
We rely on private support to fulfill our mission, and we are not affiliated with the ASPCA or any other SPCA. Your support saves lives! Thank you!
