AVAILABLE FROM FOSTER
Hi, my name is Peeta and my sister and I are currently living in a foster home because we were very fearful at the shelter. We came to the SPCA when we were around 8-9 weeks old. Luckily our foster mom took us home so we could get some rest, relaxation, and socialization. Here's what she has to say about us:
Words from the foster: These two cutie pies have come a long way! When I first got them all they did was hide. With time they have realized that they are safe and have become much more social. Their names are very fitting. Katniss is the braver and more adventurous of the two, and Peeta is good at hiding. Now that Katniss realizes that she actually likes being pet, she comes looking for affection. She still doesn't want to be picked up, but she will climb on my lap (for a treat) and she lays on top of me in bed at night. She even likes having her belly rubbed! She has the most beautiful purr and she uses it constantly. Whenever I am near her- petting her, playing with her, or just hanging out- she purrs non-stop. Of the two she is the boss. She loves her brother and is always near him, but she will not hesitate to push him out of the way to take a treat or a toy that she wants. Katniss has also gotten used to being around other people. She will play with others and let them pet her, especially if they have treats! Peeta has been slowly coming around. We have had a couple of break throughs lately. He no longer hides from me, and doesn't run when I walk by. He sleeps in the bed with Katniss and me now. He still doesn't want to be touched, but he has made such great progress that I am confident with time and patience he will be a wonderful companion. Katniss and Peeta are definitely a bonded pair that need to find a home together. They love each other and keep each company. They are 5 months old and very playful. No food or litter box issues, and can both be bribed with treats!
Peeta and Katniss should go to a home without young children who might scare them, and with a patient adopter who will give them plenty of time to get comfortable and warm up. These kittens have lived with other cats in their foster home and did well with the other cats.
Since Peeta and Katniss rely on each other for play and friendship, they are a bonded pair and must go home together.
This pet is currently available for adoption from a foster home. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a completed adoption application which can be found on our website, as well as more information about your home environment, lifestyle and what type of pet you are looking for.
